I know someone has probably already made this. But I was watching the first movie with my brother after we saw Vol. 3, and he pointed this out. So enjoy my quality meme.
Also, Vol. 3 was an absolutely incredible movie. It renewed my love for the MCU, and cured my Marvel burnout. Although I am now hyperfixating on GotG and Marvel, which is great for me and annoying to everyone I come in contact with 😅. Oh well, at least I’m having fun!

Chewbacca is buck wild as a character concept but so ingrained in the cultural canon that the full absurdity of him is often overlooked. Here's a middle-aged 200 year old space fellow who's eight feet tall with a full body perm, naked except for a bandolier he never uses, knows the local lingua franca but exclusively communicates by screaming and growling in his own language, has adopted Harrison Ford as a pet, will rip your arms out of their sockets if you beat him at chess. Go into any dog park and you'll bump into at least one mutt bearing his name. Roger Ebert despised him. In 1997 MTV gave him a Lifetime Achievement award.

I really love this scene because the very first time Rocket heard the word 'raccoon' was in 2014 and always saw it as an insult since he had been called only insults like 'rodent' 'vermin' and he doesn't like being called that for that it makes him feel like a lower-life form and nothing more than just an experiment gone wrong.
But in 2026 (the year gotg3 takes place in), he sees who he is, AFTER 12 YEARS he stops seeing the word raccoon as an insult or something to be ashamed of. but instead, he embraces it, he eccepts it, he admitts it.
He says it as if it's his last name which is a kickass last name since no one outside of earth knows what a raccoon is and will just see it as his last name nothing more and nothing less.
